Dayna Townsend

Dayna Townsend is a freelance orchestral violinist and violin teacher based in Cardiff, Wales. She received a distinction in a Masters in Orchestral Performance in 2020 and also holds a 1st Class BMus(Hons) degree in Violin Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

As an orchestral musician she has worked with orchestras include the Welsh National Opera, English Symphony Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra and Sinfonia Cymru.

Whilst a student, Dayna enjoyed leading various ensembles at the Royal Welsh College including their Symphony Orchestra, Chamber, Concert and String Soloist orchestras. She was also a finalist in the College’s Concerto Competition in 2019 and a semi-finalist for the Ian Stoutzker prize in 2020.

Dayna ventured into recording work during the Covid-19 Pandemic and has thoroughly enjoyed working with Skyquaker and is looking forward to working with them again in the future.
